    Trip Itinerary Overview

    • Day 01: Arrival in Sofia

      • Welcome to Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria! Upon arrival at the airport, meet your representative and transfer to your hotel. You’ll receive details about the start of your tour upon check-in.
      • At approximately 3:00 p.m., begin a guided city tour of Sofia, exploring its most iconic landmarks such as the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Russian Church, Banya Bashi Mosque, and the city’s elegant squares and avenues, noted for their Stalinist architecture.
      • The rest of the evening is free for you to explore at your own pace — visit local cafés, stroll through Vitosha Boulevard, or enjoy Bulgarian cuisine at a traditional restaurant.
      • Overnight stay in Sofia.

    • Day 02: Sofia – Bachkovo – Plovdiv

      • After breakfast, travel to Bachkovo Monastery, Bulgaria’s second most important monastery, founded in the 11th century. Surrounded by scenic hills, this tranquil complex is home to three beautiful churches and an atmosphere of peace and spirituality.
      • Continue to Plovdiv, one of Europe’s oldest continuously inhabited cities. Lunch is included before embarking on a guided tour of the city’s highlights, including the Roman Amphitheatre, the Old Pharmacy, and the Armenian House, located within the charming Old Town.
      • Overnight stay in Plovdiv.

    • Day 03: Plovdiv – Kazanlak – Shipka – Etara – Arbanasi – Veliko Tarnovo

      • After breakfast, journey through the Balkan Mountains, passing through the picturesque Rose Valley.
      • Your first stop is Kazanlak, where you’ll visit the replica of the Thracian Tomb of Kazanlak, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and learn about Bulgaria’s famous rose-oil production. Continue to the Shipka Memorial Church, built in honor of those who fought in the Russo-Turkish War.
      • Later, visit Etara, an open-air ethnographic museum showcasing traditional Bulgarian crafts and architecture. After lunch (included), proceed to Arbanasi, an ancient trading town known for its fortress-like stone houses. Here, you’ll visit the Nativity Church (admission included).
      • Your day concludes in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria’s medieval capital, known for its picturesque hillside old town overlooking the Yantra River canyon.
      • Overnight stay in Veliko Tarnovo.
      • Note: Occasionally, the visit to Arbanasi may take place on Sunday morning.

    • Day 04: Veliko Tarnovo – Basarbovski – Bucharest

      • After breakfast, travel north toward Romania. En route, stop to visit the Basarbovski Monastery, a unique rock-carved pilgrimage site nestled in a tranquil setting.
      • Cross the Danube River into Romania and arrive in Bucharest around 1:00 p.m. Lunch is included.
