The only Bahai Temple in Africa, it is located about 3 kilometres from the city center. Visitors enter the temple to meditate and pray after which they are taken around by the temple guides and told the history of this iconic place.

The Uganda Museum founded in 1908 exhibits ethnological, cultural, traditional and historical collections of Uganda’s cultural heritage. One will get a chance to know how people in the early years survived, their modes of transport and see the different tools used in agriculture and war fare.

Stop At: Nakasero Market, Market Square Rd, Kampala Uganda. Located in the heart of Kampala city, Nakasero market sells fresh foods, spices, textiles, electronics among others. This market was officially started in 1895

Stop At: Makerere University, University Rd, Kampala, Uganda

One of the oldest and most respected institutions of Higher learning, Makerere University has produced a number of prominent politicians in Africa.

Stop At: Independence Monument, Nile Avenue, Kampala Uganda

This monument was built by the former colonial government just before it handed over power to the Ugandans. It is located in the heart of the city and stands 6 meters tall. Duration: 20 minutes. Over night at hotel.

Breakfast at hotel -A day Lake Mburo National park tour, starts off early in the morning like 6:00am drive to west for 3 hrs fro kampala, Stop At: Lake Mburo National Park, Mbarara Uganda lake Mburo national park is the only place in southern Uganda to see zebras and the only park in the country with impalas, slender mongoose and giant bush rats. You can also look for hyenas, leopards, topis, elands and recently reintroduced Rothschild’s giraffes. Lions are rarely sighted – it’s thought there’s only one left here. Few big predators means there are horse-riding and mountain-biking opportunities. Some of the 325 bird species include martial eagles and red-faced barbets in the acacia-wooded savannah, and papyrus yellow warblers and African finfoots in the wetlands.

Safari tour along the Lake (there are 5 lakes within the Park) and then a boat ride along the shore. View crocodiles and lots of hippos with a variety of birds to see

This Project was founded by the Rhino Fund Uganda and Uganda Wildlife Authority with the aim of re-introducing Black and White Rhinos in Uganda’s National Parks. This sanctuary was established to breed black and white rhinos and restore their populations in Uganda’s protected areas at a later stage

East African Jungle Safaris organizes day excursion trips to tourist sites within Kampala and neighboring towns. These day trips are meant to enable tourists and business people who are unable to go for long tours get a chance to explore a few areas of interest. Among the attractions to visit on a one day trip is Ziwa rhino sanctuary.

You will wake-up very early in the morning and have a cup of tea and at exactly 7:00am you will be met by a company driver/guide who will brief you about the days travel itinerary and straight away embark on a 2 and 1/2hours drive towards the northern part of the country passing through the districts of Kampala, Luweero until you get Nakasongola district the proud home of Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

It is 176Kms North of Kampala off Kampala – Gulu . This Project was founded by the Rhino Fund Uganda and Uganda Wildlife Authority with the aim of re-introducing Black and White Rhinos in Uganda’s National Parks. This sanctuary was established to breed black and white rhinos and restore their populations in Uganda’s protected areas at a later stage. The sanctuary is currently a home to 13 Southern white Rhinos. The sanctuary has overtime become a popular touristic site not only to trek the majestic animals but also an excellent paradise for bird watching, nature walks and just relaxation.

Rhino tracking takes about 2hours in the company of well trained and knowledgeable local guides. So after this great experience, you will head to the restaurant for your thrilling lunch and some refreshments, afterwards be driven back to your hotel in Kampala where you will reach late in the evening and you will be dropped at your hotel and this will mark the end of this 1 day ziwa rhino sanctuary.
